Hon. Carol Hackett Garagiola is chief judge of the Livingston County Circuit Court. Before taking the bench, she served as the legal and policy director of the Michigan Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment Board and, prior to that, as the chief prosecuting attorney for the Oakland County domestic violence unit. When Judge Garagiola was in private practice, her areas of practice were child protection, child custody, and business law. She has also been an adjunct professor for Michigan State University College of Law.
